COVID-19 Response

fb_c_19

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well in these uncertain times. As we follow the news and media coverage of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) it is difficult not to feel anxious and concerned for ourselves, our families and communities near and far. St Kilda Gatehouse has an action plan in place for staff, volunteers and those we support. Until further notice, our Drop-In Centre is operating on reduced hours, Greeves St. Recycled on reduced staffing and our Young Women’s Project is offering phone contact only support. The wellbeing of all who work and access our various programs is paramount.

As we see an increase in social distancing and measures to slow down the spread of Covid-19, we recognise more than ever the extreme vulnerability of those we support and care for at St Kilda Gatehouse.

Everyone – businesses, organisations, charities – are doing it tough. Now more than ever we need your help so we can continue to keep our doors open for those experiencing homelessness, family violence, poverty, addiction and isolation. If you are in a position to donate you can do so by clicking on the DONATE button which will take you to our secure donation site.

We are all in this together. So let’s remember to be kind and generous in spirit –  help one another, make that phone call, write that letter, share your hand sanitizer, send that text, cook that meal for an isolated neighbour, surprise someone with a roll of toilet paper, listen to those who need to talk, donate to St Kilda Gatehouse. It will change someone’s life.

With thanks
